ONYX live in Anchorage

Hey friends, Bill here and I’d like to talk about next weekend’s Onyx concert in Anchorage. I’ll start by saying there are a ton of good reasons to check it out and here are a few. As group, Onyx have been one of the most durable in music, starting with the sonic boom of slam, and it’s subsequent remix with Biohazard influenced the creation of one the finest soundtrack albums of all time Judgment Night. By the way, the judgement night soundtrack is it’s own conversation, the soundtrack includes collaborations between De La Soul and Teenage Fanclub, Pearl Jam and Cypress Hill (at the time the two biggest acts in the world) the soundtrack itself leads to bands like the Gorillaz. More importantly, it still holds up

Back to Onyx, 1995 is arguably one the very best best years for rap music. With releases like Raekwon’s Cuban Links aka The Purple Tape, GZA’s Liquid Swords, 2Pac’s Me Against The World and many many more. In that year Onxy released All We Got Iz Us, personally one of my very favorite albums of all time. It’s perfect winter driving music. Their catalog is filled with grimy classics and their newer records with international production crews Snowgoons and Crack Brodas have done a really good job of bringing us back to their live show. I’m going to include a link to their show in St. Petersburg, Russia for reference… This is going to be a concert, don’t wear your nice shoes. There may or may not be a mosh pit. And Get the Pizza
